At the beginning of last month, I took a trip to London. I stayed in London for a total of five days, and I couldn’t have been happier with how it turned out. Although London is a wonderful city with a lot to offer to tourists from all over the world, I went to London for a much simpler reason. The reason that I went to London was because I needed an opportunity to relax, and going to London seemed like it offered exactly what I needed to do that.

Now, if you are wondering why I needed to go on a trip to relax during a time that was not very long after the holiday season, I will be happy to ask that. The reason that I needed to take this trip to London to relax was because I was completely exhausted. While it is true that I got to spend Christmas Day and New Year’s Eve with my family, I am not exaggerating when I say that those were the only breaks I got during the holiday season. Not only did I have to work on New Year’s Day, but I also had to work on Christmas Eve (and as you can probably guess, this meant that I didn’t get any other breaks either). On top of working when most people were on vacation, I have always been working six day weeks for the last seven months.

Now that you can see the amount of pressure that I have been under at work, it should come as no surprise that I needed some time to relax. I think the best thing about getting away and clearing my head is that I realised even though my life is stressful, I am fortunate to have a job during this recession, and dealing with a high level of stress is a small price to pay for being able to provide for my family.
