I was parking a car at Waterloo Station and was really hungry. I was actually driving a hire car and it is normal for me to keep a snack in my own car but obviously without my own car I did not have anything available. I decided that it would be worthwhile going to the closest place that I could find to go and get something to eat. I knew that it would not be safe for me to drive if I remained hungry for much longer as it was likely to effect my concentration, which would not be good at all, especially as I had a long way to go still in my journey.
I decided that I would go on to the station as I knew that there would be a food shop there. In fact when I got there I was astonished that there were so many to choose from. I do tend to find that if I get really hungry I find it hard to decide exactly what I want to eat. Normally it is good idea to have lots to choose form but here I was stuck. I had to get something quickly and so in the end went to the nearest place, picked up a sandwich and drink and bought it. Once I had eaten and I could think clearly again, it occurred to me how good the facilities were at the station and how useful they would be for anyone catching a train there.
